How nextbig.dev handles your information
Last updated: June 14, 2026
Who we are
Syft8, Inc. ("Syft8", "we", "us") operates nextbig.dev, an independent daily AI publication based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Questions: oday@syft8.com.
What we collect
- Your email, when you subscribe to the newsletter or contact us.
- Contribution details, when you contribute or subscribe through Google Reader Revenue Manager. You sign in with your Google Account and Google processes the payment. We receive a record of your contribution and your email from Google. We never see or store your full payment-card number.
- Usage data, through privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics). This counts aggregate page views. It does not build an advertising profile or track you across other sites.
- Server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and request time), kept briefly for security and reliability.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising networks on the site.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter and daily briefing you asked for.
- To process and acknowledge contributions and subscriptions.
- To operate, secure, and improve the site.
- To respond when you write to us.
Payments and Google Reader Revenue Manager
Contributions and subscriptions are handled by Google through Reader Revenue Manager. Your payment is processed by Google under Google's own terms and privacy policy. We receive a record of the contribution (amount, date, and your email) but not your card details. You can view, manage, or cancel a recurring contribution in your Google Account.
See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles your data during sign-in and payment.
Cookies and tracking
The site itself uses minimal cookies, and our analytics are cookieless. When you use Google sign-in or the contribution flow, Google may set its own cookies, governed by Google's policies.
Who we share with
We share data only with the service providers that help us run the publication, and only so they can provide their service:
- Google, for contributions, subscriptions, and sign-in.
- Cloudflare, for hosting, content delivery, and analytics.
- Supabase, for our database.
- Our email delivery provider, to send the newsletter.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the site and its readers.
Data retention
We keep your email while you are subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward, and we keep contribution records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from any email using the link in that email, or by writing to us.
- Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and comparable laws elsewhere, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Email oday@syft8.com and we will respond.
International readers
We operate from Canada and use global infrastructure. Your information may be processed in Canada, the United States, and other countries where our providers operate.
Children
nextbig.dev is written for a professional, adult audience and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date above.
